Since Calvin is a native English speaker, he was chosen
to help with an English competition that their school was taking part in. Of course we didn’t find out about it until
last minute and was given his lines one day and told him to know them by the next day. He was the only 1st
grader that got to participate, the rest of the group were 4th
graders and he was pretty proud about that fact.
It took us a while to figure out what exactly it
was. Turns out it was a play they had to
prepare and then preform it. He was
pretty excited that he got to miss several days of school because he had
practice, then the competition.
Then one of the days his last week of school, Marvin went
to go pick him up from school and he wasn’t there, they had taken him to some
awards event to receive an award. I’m
pretty sure he got the award because he’s American but whatever. He was pretty proud and they gave him some
ice cream and a chocolate gun, so it made it even more special.
